It’s Monday, February 20th and Mom’s first full day of rehab at Oakton Place at Arlington in Naples, Florida. She did great! She has lots of different therapies from three different professionals. Physical therapy, speech/memory therapy, and occupational therapy. Fiona is her occupational therapist and she is great. She could read mom’s face and see that she was anxious so she kept the oxygen reader on mom’s finger. It showed that she has plenty of oxygen and that her heart rate is good. Very smart and was very reassuring. The memory therapist did tests and found that mom’s memory is actually very good. (no surprise there!) Mom doesn’t really need it, but she will come daily just because good mind exercises are fun! It’s only Day 1 and Mom has a lot of work ahead of her, but everything is falling into place.
She reads comments here and also enjoys emails.
